After a ten-year hiatus, the teaser for the first Star Wars movie has finally been released online and on iTunes. The much-awaited Episode VII of the Star Wars Saga, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, will open for release in a theater near you on December 18, 2015. The Star Wars Episode 7 news: The Force Awakens last week raised quite a stir. This is a perfect time to announce the latest Star Wars Episode 7 news on different social networking platforms too.

“We’re very excited to share the official 2015 release date for Star Wars: Episode VII, where it will not only anchor the popular holiday film going season but also ensure our extraordinary filmmaking team has the time needed to deliver a sensational picture,” said Alan Horn, Chairman of the Walt Disney Studios.

The Star Wars Episode 7 will be directed by J.J. Abrams, the man behind big movies like Super 8, Mission Impossible III, and Star Trek. It is being scripted by Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan, whose earlier works such as Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi. Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams, and Bryan Burk are producing, with Tommy Harper, known for work on Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol, Jack Ryan, and Star Trek Into Darkness, and Jason McGatlin, who has worked on Tintin and War of the Worlds, serving as Executive Producers. John Williams is returning as the composer for Episode 7 Star Wars.

Director J.J Abrams says, “We are so excited to finally share the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII. It is both thrilling and surreal to watch the beloved original cast and these brilliant new performers come together to bring this world to life, once again. We start shooting in a couple of weeks, and everyone is doing their best to make the fans proud.”

Actors John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Issac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson and Max von Sydow will join the original stars of the saga, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker in the new film.
