With its mid-summer release next year, fans are scanning the internet for all the latest updates.
Out of the other new mutants to feature in 2016 X-Men Apocalypse, Smit-McPhee’s new look Nightcrawler is a part of this new venture. The movie is a follow-up to 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past. This time we will get to see new ventures of Storm, Jean Grey and Cyclops played by Alexandra Shipp, Sophie Turner and Tye Sheridan respectively.
Smith-McPhee’s as Nightcrawler
The first photo of Kodi Smit-Mc Phee as the blue-skinned teleporting X-Man known as Nightcrawler has been released and need we say his look is bang-on with the comic book incarnation of the fuzzy elf. Every little detail is similar except that his eyes have pupils instead of the blank bright-yellow gaze of artist Dave Cockrum’s original 1970s design.
Olivia Munn as Psylocke
Another popular character to join the cast of X-Men Apocalypse is the telepathic Psylocke played by Oliver Munn followed by huge fan following. Director Bryan Singer divulged details that Olivia Munn would be playing Betsy Braddock. Originally created by Chris Claremont and Herb Trimpe the comic book’s Psylocke found huge popularity amongst the masses. Earlier her character appeared all the way through 1970s and 80s before it joined hands with the X-Men in 1987s Uncanny X-Men No.213. Munn will be joining the cast and repped by CCA and Atlas Artists.
Lana Condor as Jubilee
Newcomer Lana Condor is the newest member to join the X-Men Apocalypse cast. She will be seen as the popular character Jubilation Lee better known as Jubilee, a name adopted by loyal X-Men fans. The character of Jubilee first made its appearance in 1989’s Uncanny X-Men No. 244 before it went mainstream. The credit for introducing this enticing character goes to writer Chris Claremont and artist Marc Silvestri. The success of the character extended not only to Marvel Entertainment X-Men comic books but to one of the leading characters of Fox’s 1990 X-Men animated series. This character first made its appearance in the Fox movies series played by Katrina Florece and Kea Wong both in cameo roles in 2000’s X-Men and 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand.
Lana Condor will join the rest of the cast that has James Mc Avoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Sophie Turner and Alexandra Shipp. The rest of the cast were seen in the sequel to last year’s X-Men: Days of Future Past.
